Seasonal variation in fatty acid and triacylglycerol composition of bovine milk fat

چکیده

The aim of this study was to assess the effects seasonal variation on changes fatty acid (FA) and triacylglycerol (TAG) composition bovine milk fat (MF) in a nonseasonal milking system. Weekly samples were collected from 14 dairy factories pooled per week as representative average Dutch milk. sample collection started May 2017 finished April 2018, resulting total 52 samples, corresponding each year. analyzed for MF content (%) FA TAG using gas chromatography with flame-ionization detection. increased intake C18:3 cis-9,12,15 through grass feeding spring summer associated major composition, including reduced proportions de novo synthesized presence several rumen biohydrogenation products conjugated linoleic isomers MF. These had an effect variation. showed that all groups significantly different between months. low molecular weight medium winter decreased summer, whereas high winter. Based monthly MALDI-TOF-mass spectrometry allowed analysis even- odd-chain species based their carbon number double bonds. analyses indicated saturated be greatest winter, monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, summer. Our system is influenced by throughout seasons.

Seasonal Variation of Triacylglycerol Profile of Bovine Milk

Milk contains 3-6% of fat, of which the dominant component is triacylglycerol (TAG). Over 100 TAG groups can be readily detected in any non-enriched milk sample by LC-MS; most TAG groups contain several isomers (TAG molecules with different fatty acid composition), which cannot be fully resolved chromatographically by any single stationary phase. TAG profile of mature milk from 19 cows was surv...

Seasonal Variations of Fat and Fatty Acid Composition in Muscle Tissues of Mediterranean Octopuses

The effects of seasons on lipid and fatty acid profiles of muscle types (mantle and arm) of Mediterranean octopuses (common octopus-Octopus vulgaris and musky octopus-Eledone moschata) were investigated. The results showed that lipid levels ranged from 0.75% to 1.60% in both muscle types of octopuses which were considered as lean. Lipid levels in mantle tissues of both octopus species were hig...

Seasonal changes in the fatty acid composition of ewe-milk fat.

Although it has long been known that there are seasonal variations in the chemical characteristics of butterfat, it has as yet not been possible to assess the relative importance of nutritional and lactational influences. Moreover, in the Northern Hemisphere the problem is further complicated by the climatic effects, which necessitate the maintenance of cows indoors during the colder months, th...
